Commissioned Artwork Policy

Original artwork can be a big decision, especially when you are yet to see the final product. You can rest assured that Shannon is every bit invested in ensuring that your one-of-a-kind piece will capture your vision beautifully.

Step 1: Initial Contact and Quote

Please contact Shannon via this online form, or via social media expressing your interest in a commissioned artwork. Shannon will then send you the Commission Booking and Price Guide.

Shannon would love to see a photo/photos of what you have in mind. Quality reference photos make a huge difference in the end product of paintings. Shannon will let you know if there are any limitations, and if she feels that your request does not suit her style, or she cannot do your vision justice.

Step 2: Booking in the Commission

HOORAY! If you would like to proceed, please let Shannon know what size, and an invoice will be emailed to you for the 30% non-refundable deposit. Shannon will then ask for information such as colour scheme preferences and any changes you would like to make from the reference photo/photos. The deposit is payable within 7 days. This deposit covers the cost of ordering the custom canvas and frame, and the initial consultation time. Shannon will confirm with you the date your artwork is likely to be finalised.

All artworks are painted on Australian made premium stretched canvas and framed in solid American Ash timber. Please let Shannon know if you would like something different and she will discuss options with you.

Shannon will communicate with you throughout the entire process and send a progress picture/s whilst working on your piece to ensure you agree with the creative direction she is going in. Please let Shannon know during the booking process if the artwork is a gift and is to be kept secret, in which case there will be no sharing of the artwork on social media.

Step 3: Artwork Completion

Upon completion of the artwork, Shannon will supply images of the completed work for your approval. A final invoice will be emailed with the remaining balance. This is payable within 7 days from the date of the invoice.

Your piece will be varnished, securely packaged and posted within 2 weeks of your final payment.

Step 4: Enjoy your new art!

Shannon would love to see a picture of it displayed in its new home. Please tag Shannon Fay Art on any social media posts!
